Small Brushes, Big Impact

3 April 2025

To many adults, brushing teeth is just part of a daily routine.
But for the children at Amitabha Foundation, it became a moment of discovery—and the first step in learning to care for themselves.

Just days ago, a group of compassionate students from UKM’s Faculty of Dentistry paid us a heartfelt visit.
They didn’t come as doctors or teachers, but as big brothers and sisters, bringing with them something more valuable than tools or textbooks — time, care, and respect.

Together, they:
Taught the children how to properly hold a toothbrush
Explained why dental hygiene matters and what causes tooth decay
Patiently guided them through each step of brushing
Knelt down at eye level to gently observe and correct their technique

What began with shyness and nervous glances soon turned into a room full of raised hands, eager questions, joyful smiles, and newfound confidence.

Because sometimes, a simple lesson on brushing teeth…
becomes a powerful reminder:
You are worthy of care. You matter.

To the UKM Dentistry students — thank you for your compassion, your patience, and your willingness to give.
May your knowledge continue to be a light in the lives of others, especially in the hearts of children still learning what it means to be loved and supported.
