No One Deserves to Be Forgotten

👵 She’s 96 years old. These days, she spends more time lying in bed than awake. She has no children. No savings. No one to visit. At Amitabha Elder Home, we do what we can — gently cleaning her, repositioning her to prevent bedsores, feeding her with care, and changing her diapers. Small acts, repeated daily, to bring her comfort and dignity. And she’s not the only one.

People sometimes ask:
“Is it worth spending so much to care for someone so old?” And we always answer: “Yes. Because they once worked hard, raised families, and gave their all. Their lives matter — even in silence, even in stillness.”

🧡 If you believe this too, please support us. Help us continue caring for those who have no one else.

A Little Less Lonely: Celebrating Parents’ Day with Love

25 June 2025

❤️ Thank you for being here — your presence made this Parents’ Day brighter and far less lonely. Last weekend at Amitabha Foundation Elder Home (Kuchai Lama), we hosted a simple yet deeply meaningful Parents’ Day celebration. We’re especially grateful to the team from Qi and Acupuncture, who generously offered pulse readings and health consultations — a gesture that brought both care and comfort to our residents.

To all the volunteers who came:
Thank you for sitting with our seniors, serving cake, sharing conversations, and most importantly, bringing back smiles that had long been missing. One elderly lady told us, “It’s been many years since someone celebrated with me. Today, I’m truly happy.”

It may have only been a few hours,
but for some, it was the most joyful and memorable moment of their month. This home is where many elderly people live without close family by their side. They don’t ask for much — just someone to talk to, to listen, and to simply be there.

🧡 We warmly invite you to visit. If you have the time and heart, a short chat or walk can mean the world to them. And if you’re unable to come in person, your donation can still make a difference — helping us continue to care for them with dignity, warmth, and love.

A Seat, A Story, A Smile: Small Moments That Matter

👵 Sometimes, it’s a university student or a nursing major who walks through the doors of our elderly home —
here for an assignment, a research project, or a short internship. They sit down, ask questions, listen to stories of the past, and take notes.
But to our residents, these conversations are more than academic exercises —
they’re moments of connection. To be seen. To be heard. To be remembered.

📍 Welcome to the Amitabha Foundation Elderly Home —
a charitable sanctuary for seniors who are alone, or whose families can no longer care for them. Their days are quiet: a few meals, some medication, a bit of television. But when someone sits down and speaks with them,
they smile for days.

💬 You don’t need to be a doctor or nurse to brighten a day here. You don’t need special training — just a little time and a kind heart. A short visit can leave a long-lasting memory.
